Environmental Impact Assessment for 9.7MW Power Plant at Marina Lagos

This project involved Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for a 9.72MW Independent Power generating plant and distribution facilities in Marina Area of Lagos under a public-private partnership arrangement with Lagos State Government. The project was intended to improve capacity utilization and cost of power for prospective consumers including: Lagos Island Maternity, General Hospital Marina, State House Marina, High Court, Magistrate Court, etc.

The proposed site for the plant is located at the eastern end of Marina Road; abutting the T-junction linking TBS and the driveway onto the Eko bridge link to Victoria Island. The site is approximately 7,367m2 and located within Lagos Island local government area. The adjoining environment is highly built-up. Land uses around the proposed project area are mainly corporate and commercial buildings, as wells road networks.

The EIA was implemented by Triple 'E' Systems Associates Limited and managed by Mr. Bartholomew Ndulue, a present key member of EcoPro Resources Limited. The EIA was successfully completed and necessary approval obtained in 2011.
