Environmental Impact Assessment of the Proposed Orange Island Reclamation of 150 Ha on Lagos Lagoon, Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria

This EIA involved two-seasons field study and assessment of associated and potential environmental and Social Impacts of the proposed reclamation of 150 Ha of land on Lagos lagoon at Lekki axis. The reclamation activities involve dredging and sandfilling using cutter suction dredging technology (CSD). Activities covered in this project included: interfacing with government regulatory authorities, socio-economic field survey, biophysical observations and monitoring, Stakeholders consultations, evaluation of project concept alternatives, analyses of impacts and risks, development of impact mitigation measures, design of Management plans, etc. This project was completed in 2014.
