Environmental Management Plan (EMP) Monitoring Report for the Escravos Gas To Liquid (EGTL) Project
This assignment involved monitoring g of the activities of Excravos Gas To Liquid (EGTL) project to ensure that every environmental and social safeguards management plan provided in the EIA of the project were appropriately implemented.
The monitoring exercise lasted 18 months was specifically implemented to:
a) Track and report on the effectiveness of the measures and responsibilities identified in the Environmental, Social, Health, and Management Plan (ESHMP).
b) Inform on the augmentation or adjustment of mitigation measures.
c) Identify any potential new areas of exposure, and
d) Ensure findings are considered in an overall program that focuses on continuing improvement
The EGTL Project was designed to convert approximately 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of unused associated gas from Chevron Nigeria’s production operations into approximately 33,300 barrels per day (bpd) of premium quality gas-to-liquid (GTL) fuel (diesel blending stock) and naphtha products. The project was conceived to meet the challenge of further reducing the quantity of associated gas flared in Nigeria Niger Delta.
The assignment was implemented by Triple 'E' Systems Associates Limited. However some present key members of EcoPro including the project manager, Mr. Obehi Eguakhide played lead roles in the successful implementation of the project.
The assignment lasted between 2011 and 2013.
