Impact Mitigation Monitoring (IMM) for Orange Island Reclamation of 150Ha on Lagos Lagoon, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. FIRST QUARTER REPORT

This project involved periodic (monthly) monitoring of the impacts of reclamation activities of 150 Ha of land on Lagos lagoon at Lekki axis from April 2015 to June 2015. The monitoring activities assessed the effects of the project activities on the socio-economic and natural environment. It bench-marked its findings on the quality of the environment around 5km radius of the reclamation site before dredging commenced. The reclamation involved dredging and sand-filling of the island using cutter suction dredging technology (CSD).
